Hi,
Can you please tell me how many episodes there were for the second
series, "Tomorrow's End." Was it 12 or 13? Thank you.

Also can you please supply an email address for the Australian company that
would hold the copyright for "The Girl From Tomorrow" and "Tomorrow's End."
Thank you for your help. : )
Eric

Hello Eric,
sorry for the delay in replying to you. There were 12 x 25
minute episodes of Tomorrow's End, and the show was produced by Film
Australia, Nine Network, The Australian Film Finance Corporation. They
currently have no plans to release the show on DVD, but a VHS version is
planned for release. We have added further information to this email to
assist you in what ever it is you are up to! It would be great to know what
you are trying to do, drop us a line!

Hi,
Terrific to hear from you. I was kind of surprised to find that there were
other fans of this series who still remembered and cared about it as vividly as
I still do.

I have been converting over our VHS collection to dvd. However this series, not
being available commercially on dvd is a little more difficult. We taped it
years ago and dvd recorders are just now getting down to 350 C$ but it would
still be cheaper to buy the dvd than record it as likely the dvd recording
would be better than our tape copy.

The other day I was surfing through eBay and saw an enterprising individual had
made a dvd copy, region 0, so that it was playable universally. I have been
trying to rationalize ignoring the likely copyright infringement with the
apparent reluctance of the Australian Film Board to produce a dvd copy by
arguing the case to myself that there is no commercially available dvd, so no
copy of an existing dvd is being made.

This is a pretty weak argument and so I had contacted the Children's Theatre to
see if they could make a copy and to see if they had the copyright or
distribution rights. They said they would put me on a mail list. There has been
no response to the question of copyright.

I am still undecided as to what I want to do about making/obtaining a dvd copy.
Have you been able to resolve this question in your mind> Thanks for any
insights.
Eric
Most grateful for these titles as the episodes are scattered among several
tapes. : )

OUR REPLY:

Hello Eric, you're not from the United Kingdom then? Yes we are aware of
John Read and his collection. However as you stated, he does not hold the
copyright to the collection. The series he has put onto DVD is also just a
collection of VHS tapes that he has converted. For legal reasons we can not
comment on this issue any further then this. We are sure that you will make
the right choice.

Heh, heh, no I'm from Canada. Yes that series made it out here too. I
think I enjoyed it more than our kids and that is saying something as we all
gathered around the tv Saturday morning to see what would happen next. It
really stirred the imagination and I hope it will be just as exciting for our
grandchildren. : )

Hey guys/ girls,

I´m a fan from both tgft and tomorrow ends, saw the series in 1993 and I just want to say

that is has been amazing to watch the popularity of these old, special, simple, low-budget shows

growing with the enormous development of the Internet.

Congratulations on the site and the DVD covers; they are both

amazing and it seems you have been putting time and effort in them.
